Nail post!
This is my take on the jagged tape manicure (or the toothy manicure as I like to call it). My nails all decided to be really weak and breaky yesterday so they all got clipped and filed out of rage, and I needed something simple and cool to do with them that doesn’t draw too much attention to how short and stupid they are.

The base color is Creme Brulee by Revlon, and I only used one coat of it since it covers pretty well and I was lazy and wanted to go to bed.

The teeth color is Valerie by Zoya, which is one of my absolute favorite colors (the picture by no means does it justice). Its a shimmery plum color and it is glorious.

To do this, just take a piece of regular scotch tape and cut a toothy/mountain pattern and stick it to your (dry) nail, then paint over the tape with your second color and then quickly remove the tape. Its hard to be neat with this one (and I’m just sloppy anyway) so be prepared for some clean up with some nail polish remover (or just wait till its completely dry and then pick the excess off in the shower like I usually do haha).

So yeah! Nails!

jk apparently the only way to get nails that shiny is to get a Minx manicure or whatever.

And you need to get it done at a salon. And $40 is probably the cheapest it’ll go. And it looks like it’s basically just high-tech nail stickers.

I AM UPSET.

Back to drooling over everything Nubar makes.

Okay, so I have an addiction to nail polish….but there’s a Buy One, Get One free deal at Zoya…

It would be silly of me to not get 4 new nail polishes……right?

No but seriously guys, this sale only lasts for another hour. You can buy up to 4 nail polishes and get 2 free, which is EXCELLENT, and you don’t even have to pay extra for shipping the 2 free ones!

The code is BOGO4, enter it right before you check out at Zoya.com.

It’s legit, I promise. Here’s the link: http://zoyanailpolish.blogspot.com/2011/10/zoya-nail-polish-bogo-time.html

Go quickly! Buy nail polish! Hurray for spending money on things to make myself feel better because I’m going insane!

I just tried Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat.

Seriously, it’s beautiful. It looks just as shiny dry as it did wet, it dried quickly (though probably not as quickly as Seche Vite, which I’m still hestiant to try after all the claims of shrinkage…and the fact that it costs a million dollars), and it’s just overall beautiful.

I have it on my thumb right now, and there is a very very clear difference between Revlon Quick Dry and the crap Wet n Wild Wild Shine stuff I used the other day. Not that I expected much else (although you would think that for a top coat named “Wild Shine” you would see more shine; my nails look rough and dirty, which is sad because Valerie is such a pretty color. Good job, Wild Shine). The Wild Shine stuff is old anyway, but since nail polish doesn’t technically ever “go bad” (it just gets thick, and this stuff wasn’t), that’s no excuse. THe long dry time wasn’t even that bad, but when it did dry it was shiny for maybe an hour and then it was just…boring. My nails looked better with no top coat than with Wild Shine (cough that’s what you get for paying 99 cents cough).

Seriously though, Revlon Quick Dry Top Coat…I love you. 4 for you Revlon coco!

My Nubar 2010 bottle came in the mail!

Too bad I just painted my nails with Valerie by Zoya last night -_-.

Oh well! I’m planning on repainting my nails tomorrow night, so I’ll probably throw some black on and then put 2010 over it.

SO EXCITED!

I put one coat on over Valerie and it has a cool effect, but you really have to look close to see it. Over the plum base it has an orangeish look, which surprisingly looks pretty sweet, even though I normally hate almost any combination of orange and purpley colors.

Once I find my camera cord I’ll put some pictures up of my past two manicures, some pictures of Valerie (SO GORGEOUS), and of course some good 2010 pictures.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll go get a new top coat.

NAIL POLISH IS THE BEST
